Mr Edmund Fitzgerald O’Connor is a fully accredited specialist in Plastic surgery, employed as a substantive Consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts – specialising in complex microsurgical reconstruction.

He caters for private patients at HCA The Shard and St Thomas’ Hospital for Reconstruction, Cosmetic and Skin procedures.

Having completed his UK medical degree at St George’s Hospital, London, in 2004 with Merit awards, he went on to be one of only four doctors accepted onto the prestigious Academic foundation surgical training programme in London.

Four years later, following a highly competitive national selection process, he ranked 1st out of 275 applicants for Plastic surgery training. During his Plastic surgery training in London he spent time at Guys & St Thomas’, the Royal London and the St Andrew’s centre for burns and plastic surgery in Chelmsford.

Following completion of his specialist Plastic surgery training in the UK, Mr Fitzgerald O’Connor completed a reconstructive, aesthetic and microsurgery fellowship at The Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia which led to him being appointed there as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon.

He returned to London in 2018 in order to help build a new microsurgical service at King’s College Hospital London, the leading trauma centre in the South of England.   Mr Fitzgerald O’Connor is on the Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery with the General Medical Council.

He is a fifth-generation doctor in his family, married with two children and a keen kite-surfer.
